Since 1940, the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) has exclusively represented the worldwide oil and gas drilling industry.
IADC Nigeria Chapter’s vision is for the drilling industry to be recognized for its vital role in enabling the global economy and its high standards of safety, environmental stewardship and operational efficiency.
The Association’s primary areas of focus include:
- Advocating for sensible regulation
- Giving voice to our industry
- Improving safety and environmental protection
Membership is open to any company involved in oil and gas exploration, drilling or production, well servicing, oilfield manufacturing or other rig-site services.
The IADC Nigeria Chapter, like its parent body, was established in 2012 to undertake activities for the benefit of the Oil and Gas drilling industry, to promote safety, environmental preservation and advances in drilling technology. IADC is committed to compliance with US, EC, and EEA, and other applicable antitrust and competition laws.
The IADC Nigeria Chapter was established in October 2012 with 4 companies and has grown to 42 member companies within the span of eight years. The chapter has worked on three major initiatives in the past years – annual HSE Statistics award ceremony/database, Technical Sessions and Training Gap Analysis.
Our intent is to create HSE statistics to recognize positive achievements and look for areas of improvement, keeping the focus on HSE practices, with the ultimate goal to maximize uptime for an operating rig. The chapter also organizes quarterly technical sessions where experienced and senior-level members of the industry present papers or lectures to educate and inform member companies about developments in the industry and cultivate an attitude of sharing safety and operational best practices to facilitate zero NPT.
