Dear All,

Security reports indicate that there has been an escalation in violence and civil unrest with the #ENDSARS protests across Lagos and other parts of the country. There are growing concerns in so many quarters about the breakdown of law and order across all the states. At the current rate, a state of emergency may be declared to manage the ongoing crisis, which may see the deployment of Military Forces.

Members are advised to avoid areas of protests and any uncoordinated gatherings:

  • Ensure your wards and relations are informed and guided on their choices of association.
  • Most schools in Lagos have remained closed for this week and resorted to online learning for Pupils. Check with your respective kids’ schools if this is not already implemented.
  • Reduce your exposure to the ills of traffic and disruptions caused by the protests. If it is not an emergency situation, kindly use virtual or alternative means for your meetings and interactions.

Please stay safe. We will continue to monitor events and communicate accordingly.

Kind regards,

IADC Nigeria Chapter
